The two-storey rectangular building is a freestanding residential building in Berlin-Alt-Marienfelde, built around 1703 and rebuilt after a fire in 1733-1748.
The object is a listed building and was registered in 1988 as a historic monument.
Thanks to the courages comitment of the client, the handcraftmen and the architect the former rural workers' house of 1738 in Berlin, which was almost lost, was saved and returned to its historic use as a residential building.
The rehabilitation measures include the repair of the roof construction, the exterior and some of the interior walls, the ceilings and the building services.
The existing substance was small-scale repaired and statically improved. Windows and doors were rebuilt according to historical model.
In close consultation with conservation authority and other professionals and three years of continuous effort the appropriate solutions for the rescue and restoration of the building were found.
For this exemplary monument preservation with as far as possible preservation of the historical substance the building was awarded in 2017 with the second price.
